Cabinet & Small, Reach In Ovens

The cabinet or bench oven is used to describe small batch equipment. Altera Technologies provides custome made cabinet & small, reach in Ovens. There are basically two types: Heavy Duty and Normal Cabinet Ovens.

Heavy Duty Ovens

he Altera Heavy Duty Oven is designed for 650°F with a high temperature option for 1,000°F operation. The SBH is equipment with a floor stand and a structural rack and shelf assembly, plus many other options to choose from. Heavy Duty Oven is designed for a heavy-duty cycle and is offered in twenty-six (26) sizes. Normal Batch Ovens

The Normal Batch (NB) is offered in three sizes (8, 27, & 36 cubic feet), in two temperature ranges (500°F/260°C and 800°F/427°C) and in two fuels, gas or electric. The NB series oven provides horizontal air flow at maximum capacity through the work chamber, ensuring excellent temperature uniformity. The exterior is designed for a clean, sleek appearance suitable for any Laboratory environment, but the interior design and construction features are heavy-duty, making the NB series oven ideal for any industrial application.

 

Normal Duty Walk-In Ovens

Normal Duty Walk In Oven comes in custom made sizes. Heating: Gas or Electric. Heavy construction & ball bearing hinges, Rattle proof adjustable ductwork, Fully factory assembled, tested, and shipped complete, Meets FM, IRI, NEC and NFPA 70 & 86 recommendations.

Heat Treat/Draw/Temper Ovens & Furnaces

This type of equipment is very common in the heat treat industry and is commonly referred to as a Companion Draw, or Draw Batch Furnace. Altera Technologies Oven Series is used most often for tempering, solution treating, aging, annealing, normalizing, and stress relieving applications.

We have 30 standard heat treat models. There are ten (10) standard sizes, available in four (4) temperature ranges. Standard maximum continuous temperature ratings are 800°F (425°C), 1000°F (540°C), 1250°F (675°C), and 1400°F (760°C).

Each model can be heated by either a direct gas fired burner (Natural or Propane), or with electric heating elements. We can also provide indirect gas fired units if required.

The standard furnaces are designed to accept the most common heat treat baskets and load sizes. Please contact us so we can discuss your application.

We offer a wide variety of standard options to satisfy most applications, including special temperature controllers, chart & paperless temperature recorders (as well as other data acquisition equipment), process timers, and 7-day timers.

Hearths & Work Support - Many different hearth designs can be supplied with our equipment. As a standard, we provide a pier-rail hearth, which is used when the baskets or products are loaded either by hand, or by fork truck.

Hearths are available in either carbon steel, stainless steel, or alloy, depending on the temperature and your needs. We can design the equipment with a bridge and chain guides, to allow loading and unloading from an existing charge car.

Standard features include maintenance free door gaskets, high pressure air distribution ducts, heavy duty exterior plate construction, corrosion resistant aluminized or stainless steel interior (depending upon model), and non-settling batt type insulation. These heat treating ovens also include an air operated vertical lift door, combination air flow through the work chamber, pier rail hearth and disconnect switch.

Elevator Style Ovens

Altera Technologies manufactures Elevator ovens of various sizes for any application. The design provides for minimal floor space and excellent uniformity. These ovens are often used in the semiconductor, glass, and automotive industry. The concept of an elevator oven is very simple, and it's name is derived from the process.

The product, often loaded in baskets or on a grid, is positioned under the oven and is attached to a lift mechanism. The load is then lifted into the chamber and the doors, located on the bottom, are closed. The oven then proceeds with the heat treat of the load.

Because the chamber is directly above the load car floor space is cut in half.

 

 

Drop Bottom Furnaces

The concept of a drop bottom is very simple, and its name is derived from the process. The product, often loaded in baskets or on a grid, is positioned under the oven and is attached to a lift mechanism. The load is then lifted into the chamber and the doors, located on the bottom, are closed. The oven then proceeds with the heat treat of the load. At a prescribed time, the doors open, and the load is lowered at a near free fall rate into a waiting quench tank.

Our Drop Bottom Furnaces utilize many innovative design features to reduce maintenance and increase performance and efficiency.

Clamping Door Seal - When closed, the doors are tightly clamped against the bottom of the furnace. This type of closure prevents cold air leakage, which can disrupt the temperature uniformity of the load and increase operating expenses.

Maintenance-Free Door Seal - The door consists of a tightly compressed ceramic fiber that is self-adjusting and will maintain a superior seal that will last years before replacement is required.

High Velocity Air - Our design uses higher velocity airflow (over 800 FPM through the load). High pressure blowers provide faster heating rates and tighter temperature uniformity for varying load configurations and densities.
